When you have food allergies, you must be very careful with what you use. You must read (and re-read) the ingredients, learning what each ingredient means and what allergen it derives from. While this task could sound tedious to most, I actually find it to be a positive thing in my food allergy journey. I have learned so much about the common ingredients used and what these loooooong words that seem impossible to pronounce mean.

Joe has never had a food allergy, so reading ingredients is not a norm for him. While he doesn't have to avoid anything, I did want him to start eating cleaner and being more mindful of what it is he puts in his body. One of those things was his protein powder.

There were a lot of filler ingredients, dairy, and unnecessary additives in the protein powder he was originally using, We knew he could benefit from something much cleaner, vegan, and, you know, something that has only the good stuff. Luckily, EarthChimp fell into our laps, and even more luckily, Joe is absolutely enjoying it.

In this blog, you will find:

First of all,

what is EarthChimp?

EarthChimp is a plant-based protein with about 20g and 1 billion CFU probiotics per serving. Not only is it vegan, but it is also gluten-free and soy-free. It is safe for a lot of dietary and food allergy restrictions, but I do want to warn those that it does contain pea, pumpkin, sunflower, and coconut protein, as I know many who visit our blog are allergic to some of those allergens. Other than that, the protein powder is organic and does not contain sugar or gum ingredients.

It comes in three flavors: plain & unsweetened, chocolate, and vanilla. As you can already guess, chocolate has been Joe's favorite flavor. And I love using the different flavors to create different types of protein bite recipes for Joe to snack on. My favorite aspect about EarthChimp is that the company truly cares about the planet. The company donates 10% of its packaging costs toward removing discarded plastics from our oceans. You can also email them and request they plant a tree for you: forest@earthchimp.com

How can I use EarthChimp?

The most common use of EarthChimp is blending 2 scoops into your favorite smoothie. However, we are big snackers in our household. We like using EarthChimp protein powders to create protein bites. Here are three of our favorite recipes:
