Let's dive into homemade pizza!

It would be fantastic to dive into a pie of pizza right now. I miss the days of being able to call a pizzeria and order a pie whenever I wanted one, but life with multiple food allergies does not make these tasks that easy, especially when those allergies include gluten, dairy, and tomatoes.

The plus side is we have experimented and made so many pizza combinations at our house, that we now have a list worthy of a blog post! So here we go...

Whether you're dealing with food allergy restrictions or just looking for a fresh twist for your next homemade pizza night, this guide will help you build the perfect allergy-friendly pizza that is free from dairy, gluten, corn, nightshades, coconut, and more!

Follow our 3 steps to building out your perfect food allergy-friendly pizza with us:

Following the breakdown, we have a list of some of the tasty pizza combinations we have made and what was used to create them:

Please note that our list is limited. While there are plenty of other products out there that may be safe for you, depending on your allergy restrictions, this list is completely free from gluten, soy, corn, dairy, nightshades, coconut, canola, and mustard.

Step Three:

And quite frankly my favorite part; toppings! These are just some of our favorites we use:

As promised, below is a round-up of some of our favorite pizza creations we have made!

Classic Pizza Pie

Our classic pizza uses our tomatoless marinara sauce and homemade cashew cheese (recipe below), sprinkled with dried Italian seasoning.

Cashew Cheese

Ingredients

  • ⅓ cup cashews

  • 1 to 2 tablespoons nutritional yeast

  • 1 garlic clove

  • 1 cup water

  • sea salt, for taste

  • 2 tablespoons arrowroot starch (or starch of your choosing)

Directions

  1. Put all the ingredients except for the starch in a blender or food processor. Pulse repeatedly to break the cashews down, until they form a coarse, wet meal. Scrape the sides of the blender or food processor down with a rubber spatula.

  2. Transfer to a small sauce pot over medium heat. Add in the starch and stir until the mixture thickens.

Pesto and Prosciutto Pizza Pie using Simple Mills Pizza Crust Mix

This is one of my go-to styles as most of the ingredients can be store-bought. I like to use the Simple Mills pizza crust because it creates a crunchier cracker-like crust, that I think pairs well with these softer toppings.

Roasted Butternut Squash Pizza Pie

I love making this roasted butternut squash pizza, especially during the end of the summer into autumn. With just a light white sauce topped with a copious amount of roasted butternut squash and onions is all you need. Trust me!

Details:

  • Sauce: Dairy-Free Alfredo Sauce or white sauce of choice

  • Toppings: Diced butternut squash and sliced red onions that were roasted in the oven before being added to the pizza. Finished off with a sprinkle of nutritional yeast.

Pizza Bagels

A childhood classic now made gluten-free and more! May not be bite-sized like the store-bought ones, but, HEY, we are growing adults who can use a normal-sized pizza bagel-style meal.

Prosciutto Pizza Pie

Similar to our Pesto and Prosciutto Pizza above, we omit the cheese for this one and add more greens and drizzle with a balsamic glaze.
